고유는 황진이의 「동짓달 기나긴 밤을」에서 긴 겨울밤의 한 허리를 베어 내어 이불 아래 접어 두었다가 임이 오신 밤에 다시 펼치겠다는 정서를 침구로 재해석했다. 제품의 중심에는 초승달의 곡선을 담고, 먹이 번지는 수묵의 농담으로 그 경계를 흐리게 표현해 아직 차오르지 않은 밤과 기다림의 시간을 담아냈다. 흑백의 절제된 색과 여백을 통해 고요한 분위기를 살리고, 시조의 정서를 직물의 언어로 다시 풀어내 고유만의 ‘편안한 특별함’으로 완성했다.KOYU reinterpreted the sentiment of Hwang Jin-i’s sijo “The Long Winter Night” through bedding inspired by the idea of folding away a part of the long winter night to unfold again when the beloved returns. At the heart of the design is the curved form of a crescent moon, its edges softly blurred with the tonal gradations of ink wash painting to evoke an unfinished night and the quiet passage of waiting. Through restrained black-and-white tones and generous negative space, KOYU translates the emotion of the sijo into the language of textiles, adding a sense of contemporary balance to its philosophy of “comfortable distinction.”
